While serving as a CEO, a Director of Security and a Senior Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Ray has established himself as an authority on Security issues in both the public and private sectors of our society.

In a career the spans more than 35 years, Ray has developed a reputation as an expert in the fields of Counter-Intelligence, Terrorism, Corporate and Industrial Security. Ray also enjoys the distinction of being an FBI Master Instructor having trained hundreds of Federal, State and Local Police Officers from across the country. He is a sought after Speaker and Lecturer on topics of Corporate Security, Industrial Security and organizational behavior.

As a Special Agent of the FBI assigned to the Special Intelligence Division of the New York office, Ray became an authority on the tradecraft, modus operandi, and espionage tactics of Intelligence Officers of the Soviet Union’s KGB (SVR) and GRU. He was the lead investigator on several cases that impacted our National Security. He was also hand-picked for a Top Secret assignment protecting the internal security of the highest levels of the U.S. Government.

In the early 1990’s Ray was assigned to work in the Middle District of Alabama and specialized in combating organized crime drug traffickers and violent offenders. Ray conceived, organized and commanded the Middle District’s Violent Crime Task Force. His efforts led the Task Force to be recognized and awarded by both The State of Alabama and the U.S. Department of Justice. In 1993, Ray was recognized for his efforts and named “Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.”

When terrorists struck on 9/11, Ray put his talents to work to form the “Counterintelligence Working Group” for Alabama. His concept was to form a unified body of Federal and State Officers to devote resources to protecting the critical infrastructure and citizens of Alabama from potential terrorist attacks.

Ray supervised this unit until his retirement from the FBI. After retirement, Ray was hired by a Federal Government Contractor to develop and implement its corporate security program. As the Director of Corporate Security, Ray developed the security posture for the company as well as supervised the company’s compliance with the National Industrial Security Program. Ray received acclaim from the US Department of Defense Security Service and the U.S. Department of State for managing the company program to the level of a Superior rating. Ray was also noted for developing a security plan for the protection of classified documents and plans utilized in the building of U.S. Embassies on foreign soil. As the Director of Security, Ray has traveled around the world providing counterintelligence training and security assessments for contractor personnel of the U.S. Department of State.

Ray has given speeches and lectures throughout the Southeast to corporations and civic groups on topics ranging from Industrial Security to workplace violence. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Villanova University and a M.S. in Government from Southern Illinois University. He presently maintains membership with the National Classification Management Society and the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI.
